Originating from the heart of Michigan, he earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Human Resources from Michigan State University. Kirk‘s professional journey embarked through Raytheon’s HR Leadership Development Program, guiding him through diverse roles across different business units in Dallas, Boston, and Los Angeles.
Propelled by an unwavering pursuit of different challenges, Kirk transitioned into the field of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), an industry that provided him with invaluable insights into time-honored HR practices as exemplified by industry titans including Nestle, Danone, and Conagra Brands. His culminating experience within the CPG sector involved spearheading the HR function at a Denver-based publicly traded cannabis startup, where he rounded out his skills by embracing HR specialties previously uncharted.
Empowered by the transformative influence he wielded while steering HR efforts within a small yet growing company, Kirk‘s subsequent and current role catapulted him into the leadership of HR at Barkbus. Over the past two years he has been at the helm of this luxury mobile pet grooming enterprise that champions the mission to alleviate stress for pets while extending unparalleled convenience to their devoted owners. Remarkably, in just three years, Barkbus has blossomed from its modest inception of two vans stationed in a single Los Angeles location to a flourishing fleet of more than 70 vans dispersed across seven strategic locations spanning three states.
